Hello all,
Tammy and I went to see the newly released (in Whitehorse anyways) movie 30 days of night. Surprisingly enough it wasnt all that bad.
The movie is set in one of the most northern communities in Alaska, in this particular town they get a complete month of darkness during the winter season. Most people leave town for that time, take the opportunity to visit southern friends and family, but there always is a few who choose to stay, you know the community has to keep running.
Well, this particular year, Vampires decide to visit this community during the month of darkness (hence the title 30 days of night).
Overall this is a pretty decent movie, not at all gory and actually has a story to it, unlike many of the recent horror movies. 30 days of night even has a love relationship in it for the soft at heart. Who ever thought this story up, good on ya! Vampire + northern darkness = a good base for a story. With no daylight, how do they defeat the Vampires? Ohhh, you will have to check it out to see.
Kinda neat info,
There are communities up north that do actually experience this long term darkness. Unfortunately no vampires, however with the lack of sun, I must say the people who live up here eventually do resemble the pigmently challenge monsters.
Anyways check it out, but don’t expect a make- you- crap- your- pants Halloween horror flick.
Let us know what you think.

Jon’s on glue – the movie was perdictable and not all that scary – had some gruesome parts but overall a snore. May scare someone if the are afraid of vampires.. uhum, dad.. but otherwise don’t waste your money:)
